Is YOUR Organization Dramatically Improving Health?


2011 International Health Promotion Award Finalists

URAC and the Care Continuum Alliance are seeking applications from community- and workplace-based health promotion programs that have demonstrated success in enhancing the overall health of their participants. Awards will be given in two categories:

  • International Community Health Awards
  • International Workplace Health Awards

International Community Health Awards - Eligibility & Criteria
International Community Health Awards honor organizations committed to health promotion and education, or disease prevention and care. To help continue these efforts, the chosen programs will also receive a $5,000 award.

Community health promotion programs will be judged by an international panel of experts and evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Innovative
  • Replicable
  • Inclusive
  • Positive Impact
  • Relevant
  • Sustainable

Eligible program sponsors include:

  • Community organizations
  • Non-governmental organizations
  • Charitable foundations
  • Not-for-profit organizations
  • Government agencies
  • For-profit companies

Program must have been fully implemented; i.e., the program is ongoing or has ended within the past year. Award finalists must be willing to share project implementation details. Community Health Award Applicants can preview a PDF of the nomination requirements here:

Nomination Requirements

International Workplace Health Awards - Eligibility & Criteria
International Workplace Health Awards recognize wellness and health promotion programs that optimize and maintain overall health and mitigate chronic disease risk in the workplace. This award is open to employers of any size, including for-profit companies, non-profits, and government agencies. Workplace health promotion programs will be judged by an international panel of experts and evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Innovative
  • Replicable
  • Leadership Support
  • Employee Support (program design and participation)
  • Positive Impact
  • Relevant
  • Sustainable

Eligible program sponsors may be employers of any size. Eligible employers include:

  • For-profit companies
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Government agencies

Nomination Requirements

Award Finalists
A panel of independent health care experts and policymakers will serve as awards program judges. The judges will evaluate entries based on the quality and impact of programs. Three award winners will be announced in each category, for a total of six global winners.

Nominations are now closed. Finalists will be announced prior to the event and will receive an all-expense paid trip to attend the URAC/ Care Continuum Alliance International Health Promotion Awards in Rome, December 5-6, 2011.
